Producers Must Comply with Erosion Regulations

Rural Marion County residents are encouraged to make sure they are in compliance with highly erodible land regulations. Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist Jay Jung tells KNIA/KRLS news producers with land that is classified as highly erodible are required by law to have conservation systems in place to keep soil loss limits to an acceptable level. Jung says those who do not comply can face up to $10,000 in payment reductions. Producers who have questions about their property and compliance are encouraged to contact the NRCS at 842-5314.
