Several dozen school dignitaries, friends and supporters of Central College and David and Betsy Roe were on hand around noon on Friday to witness the official dedication of the “Roe Center” at Central College. Roe is retiring as president of Central College after 12 years of leadership, and the Board of Trustees felt the naming of Central’s newest academic building was a fitting way to honor the legacy of Dr. Roe and his wife, Betsy. The Roe Center houses Central’s education, psychology and communication studies programs, as well as the new Center for Global Sustainability, and has also been awarded a platinum rating for energy-efficient design by the U.S. Green Building Council.
