The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team provided up to the minute coverage this morning for our listening area as Marion County was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning from approximately 10:35 until 11:00 Friday morning. We received reports of pea sized hail during the storm but no damage has been reported at this time. Despite the brief heavy rains and some hail, the tulips in Pella seem to have braved Friday’s thunderstorm. Patsy Sadler, Director of the Pella Historical Village tells KNIA/KRLS News that most of their tulips made it through the weather as well, adding that the cool, wet weather is actually good for the flowers, because it is similar to the weather in Holland at this time of year.
