Hoping to recover from a narrow defeat at the hands of Norwalk on Tuesday, the Pella boys soccer team played a physical and intense contest last night at Albia and returned home with a 5-1 win. The Little Dutch started quickly, with Grant Barrick scoring on a header in the first three minutes, but the Blue Demons quickly responded with a goal of their own. Pella would score three more goals in the first half, with the third coming on a penalty kick, to enter the intermission up 4-1.

Looks at the goal in the second half became much more difficult, as the Little Dutch would add one more score while holding Albia scoreless. The Blue Demons picked up three yellow cards during the course of the very aggressive match, while Pella had one yellow card. With the 5-1 victory, the Pella boys are now 7-4 overall and will host Carlisle on Monday.

Pella Goals:

Grant Barrick (2) – assists Spencer Boeyink, Deckar Lynch
Tukker Bogaard (2) – assists Nathan Buchheit (2)
