The Pella Christian boys track and field team is away from the track for a few days while many of the athletes take part in Tulip Time-related activities, but will have a short turnaround from the weekend before the conference meet. Eagles’ Head Coach Max Killoren says while he encourages the team to take part in the festivities, there are some potential drawbacks.

“The worst thing about Tulip Time is that they’re [the team] out on their feet all day and half of the night,” said Killoren. “So they come back on Monday and they’re dragging a little bit, and unfortunately that’ll be the night when we have the conference meet. But that’s just how it goes.”

Killoren will need to hope for a speedy recovery, as his squad will join the rest of the Little Hawkeye Conference on the track in Newton on Monday afternoon.
