Two members of the Central College baseball team have been named to the Rawlings American Baseball Coaches Association Division III All-Central Regional baseball squad. Junior right field Jarred Lackey and sophomore shortstop Mike Furlong were each named to the third team. It’s the second straight selection for Lackey and the first time since 2006 that more than one player for the Dutch has earned the honor.
Lackey batted .399 this season, including a school season record with 52 RBIs and slugged a time-high eight home runs. Furlong led Central with a .401 batting average and swiped a team-leading 17 stolen bases; while posting a stout .903 fielding percentage on defense. The Central baseball team set a new season-best for victories this past season with a 27-14 record.
