The Knoxville City Council approved three demolition contracts at their special meeting last night. Of the eighteen properties included in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, 14 of them will be demolished by Price Construction of Albia, 2 will be demolished by Davis Excavation of Knoxville and the remaining 2 will be handled by Morris Tree Service of Hamilton. Each property was bid separately and Zoning Administrator Cindy Glick recommended the council accept the lowest bid for each home. The council voted unanimously in favor of the recommended contracts, with the exception of absent council member Bob Wims. In addition, the board also approved a resolution establishing certain fees and charges for city services at the city’s Graceland Cemetery.
