Dr. Tobin E. Jacks, a former family practitioner at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics has been fined prohibited from practicing obstetrics. The Iowa Board of Medicine charged Dr. Jacks on June 11th for failure to appropriately monitor a mother’s diabetes during pregnancy, failure to perform an appropriate assessment of the mother and child prior to delivery and failing to order a Caesarian Section given the child’s high birth weight among others. The charges stem from a delivery at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics on February 16, 2005. Dr. Jacks’ last day practicing in Knoxville was June 30th of 2006.
