Food Safety Cautioned During Summer Recreational Events

While warm weather means more opportunities for fun outdoor events like picnics and cookouts, it also increases the opportunities for food-borne illnesses. Simple ways to help protect yourself against getting sick include keeping cold food cold, hot food warm and keeping your hands clean. Additionally, using a meat thermometer to make sure meat and poultry is cooked thoroughly will also greatly reduce the risk of food-borne illnesses during the summer season.
