Incumbent State Representative from Pella Wins Primary Election

Jim Van Engelenhoven was elected as the Republican nominee for House District 71 in Tuesday’s primary election. The incumbent carried 2,301 votes, while challenger Marc Held earned 720 votes. District 71 represents the majority of Marion County and the Monroe area. Van Engelenhoven will now face Democratic candidate Pat Van Zante in the November general election.
