Community events celebrating Independence Day are planned for Leighton and Pella next month. Both communities elected to host their events in the days preceding July 4th, which falls on a Sunday.

An afternoon and evening full of activities in Leighton will be held on Friday, July 2nd, and includes food, a parade and fireworks, among other activities.

In Pella, a full slate of activities are scheduled from the morning all the way through the night for Saturday the 3rd, and also include a parade in the afternoon and fireworks at dusk.
