Several events are planned in Marion County this year to celebrate our country’s independence. Due to the 4th of July falling on a Sunday this year Bussey and Pleasantville will both hold their Independence Day festivities on Saturday the 3rd. In Pleasantville, the annual parade will begin at 11am and a fireworks display will start at dusk. Several activities are planned in Bussey Saturday as well including a parade at 10am, a raising of the flag ceremony at the City Park at 11am followed by live musical entertainment, rides, raffles and fireworks once the sun sets.
