The 2010 Pella Gospel Sing is coming up on Friday and Saturday, July 30th and 31st. The concert will be held from 3:00 to 10:00 on the 30th and 10:00 to 10:00 on the 31st at West Market Park. There will be music, food, and fun for a freewill offering that will go towards the Teen Challenge of the Midlands. For more information, call 780-1281.

According to MidAmerican Energy a tree fell onto a primary line shortly before 8:00 this morning causing power outages to around 150 customers in the area.

Funeral services for Gladys May Vander Ploeg age 97 formerly of Prairie City will be Saturday July 3 at 11:00am at the Prairie City United Methodist Church, with burial following at the Waveland Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Memorials may be donated to the Prairie City United Methodist Church and condolences may be left for the family at coburnfuneralhomes.com.
