The Pella Aquatic Center fully opens this weekend for the outdoor swimming season. With a new season beginning, pool manager Jan Bensink says now is a good time to remind parents and guardians to keep a close eye on children while at the pool. Bensink says even if a child is a good swimmer, accidents can still happen that might otherwise be prevented with better supervision. The main pool at the Pella Aquatic Center has been open since Memorial Day, but the Adventure River is now open as well. Pool hours are 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
