The Pella Christian softball team is headed into the weekend riding the momentum of two big conference victories and excited to be hosting a large-scale Saturday tournament. Lady Eagles’ co-Head Coach Nate Van Wyk says the players and coaching staff are looking forward to today’s games.
“We’ve got a lot of teams from the area coming in. It’s a great day for our booster club and for our fans to be out here and see a lot of good softball,” said Van Wyk. “We’’ve got a lot of good teams coming in here – Albia, Newton, PCM’s going to be here – so we’re excited about it.”
Other teams that will take part in the tournament include Grinnell, Belle Plaine and Sigourney. Each team is guaranteed to play three games, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. and are split between the softball fields at Pella Christian and Pella Community High Schools.
