In their first action since Wednesday, the Pella Christian softball team is scheduled to take part in a weekend tournament at Eddyville-Blakesburg today. Lady Eagles co-Head Coach Nate Van Wyk says the Saturday games will provide his team the opportunity to try some new things and address certain areas in need of help.

“I look at these weekend tournaments as learning experiences,” says Van Wyk. “It’s an opportunity for us to fix problems that we’ve had, to work on things, to get girls extra at bats… It doesn’t count against your conference record and doesn’t hurt you in your seeding for districts or anything, so I really want to use these games to get better and focus on a few things.”

The Pella Christian softball team is 7-5 overall this season.
