Several purchases and payments were approved at Monday’s Pella School Board meeting. The board approved the low bid of $109,145 from TK Concrete of Pella for Phase II of improvements to the high school parking lot and the purchase of a new Grasshopper lawn mower from De Ruiter Lawn Equipment for $12,759. Both purchases come from the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) fund.

The Pella School Board also purchased school buses for the first time in two years, buying an 84-passenger bus for $84,500 and a new 65-passenger bus for $72,388. A 2011 Chevy Suburban was also purchased for the district at $34,401.

In other business, the board approved the purchase of 34 site licenses for SuccessMaker math software for the elementary schools at a cost of $34,300; and made the final payment to Jensen Builders in the amount of $50,567 for the High School addition project.
