The Pella softball team moved to 2-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference play with a 5-1 win at home over Grinnell last night. Mandy Demeulenaere pitched a complete game to get the win, only allowing two hits while striking out seven and walking only one. Pella was hot at the plate as well pounding out 10 hits. Taylor Veenstra led the Lady Dutch going 2-3 with 2 RBI, Whitney Pavlat was 2-4 with a RBI, Mackenzie Anthony and Rachel Greving also each had one RBI. Pella’s defense was solid as well as they only committed one error. The Lady Dutch improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in LHC play and return to action tomorrow when they host cross town rivals Pella Christian.
