Several segments of Pella streets will be closed for a portion of Saturday, July 3rd, for the city’s Independence Day celebration. For the parade route, Franklin Street will be closed from East 3rd to West 3rd Street from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, portions of that segment will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for other activities that will be taking place in the downtown area.

East 2nd Street, from the intersection of Washington Street to the intersection of Union Street in Pella will also be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for parade staging.

Streets near Madison Elementary will also be closed in the evening for the fireworks display. Those closures include 240th Place from East Vermeer Road to Business Highway 163; and East University Street from East 13th Street to 240th Place. Those closures will be in effect from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
