The park rangers at Lake Red Rock have planned several activities for the Fourth of July weekend, including a pair of programs for visitors looking to learn a little more about nature and the Red Rock area.

On Friday, storyteller David Wharff will present a program on wild bison that roamed the area and the impact on on the early natives who shared the land with them. The program will be held Friday evening at the North Overlook Amphitheater.

A program on Saturday afternoon will also look at the microscopic creatures crawling around in wetlands across the state. Both programs are open to the public and free of charge. For more, call Tracy Spry at 628-8690 or 828-7522.
