A late-inning rally again led to sour results for the Pella baseball team, as the Little Dutch fell 6-4 at home last night against Oskaloosa. The Little Dutch led 4-1 going into the sixth inning, when four consecutive hits by the Indians – including a home run and two doubles – pulled Osky into a tie at 4-4. The Indians then retired the side in the sixth inning and knocked in two more runs in the top of the seventh to take a two-run lead.

Pella defiantly battled back to load the bases with one out and Brett Kingery at the plate. Unfortunately, Kingery slapped a slow roller toward second base and Oskaloosa closed out the game with an unassisted double play. The Little Dutch had just two hits in the loss. Pella is now 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, with a home game against Centerville tonight.
