The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock is releasing water from two of the dam’s five tainter gates, following another increase in the lake’s level on Sunday. As of 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, the lake was at 778.39 feet, up over six inches in the past 24 hours, and was forecast to increase by another six inches by later in the day. The latest forecast from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has the lake level crossing 780 feet by the weekend.

In-flow to the lake is expected to peak sometime Friday at around 70,000 cubic feet per second. The out-flow at the dam will increase to as much as 50,000 cubic feet per second today and go up to 60,000 cubic feet per second on Saturday. The Corps of Engineers re-evaluates these predictions continually, and KNIA/KRLS News will immediately report any changes as they are released.

Additionally, boats are not allowed within a half mile of the dam for safety reasons. A line of buoys has been put in place at that portion of the lake to mark the area.
