The Marion County Community Foundation has announced the recipients their 2010 annual grants. The foundation is affiliated with the Iowa Community Affiliate Network and awards grants to support education, health and wellness, community development, human services, environmental concerns, art and music.

Among this year’s recipients are $5,000 grants for the Knoxville and Pella Schools for mini grants, as well as $5,000 each to the Marion County Senior Nutrition Program for steam tables, and the Red Rock Lake Association for the Hickory Ridge Wilderness Camp.

Other grant amounts included $3,500 to the Knoxville Alumni Association to make this year’s local Celebration Iowa performance possible, a $3,000 grant to Helping Hands Food Pantry to finish their second floor apartments, and $2,700 to Pella Regional Health Center for a hospital project.

A total of 46 organizations and services received funds, totalling nearly $95,000 combined. This was the Marion County Community Foundation’s fifth year of distributing grants to a variety of services and organizations.
