The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday morning. At the meeting the board addressed a resolution establishing a 35 mile per hour speed limit on a portion of Vermeer Road, west of 240th Place in Pella. Pella Police Chief Michael Marcinkowski says the north side of the road is owned by the county with the south side belonging to the city of Pella. He said the city chose the change the speed limit on said portion of road in order to make a more natural decrease in speed before the limit hits a 25 mile per hour zone. The board unanimously approved the resolution.

In other business the board approved the secondary road department payroll policy for fiscal year 2011, along with the annual agreement for mental health services with Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Center and facility rental agreements for five Marion County elderly nutrition meal sites.
