Those who work out at the Knoxville Recreation Center will soon be able to take advantage of some new equipment and choose what keeps them entertained while working on their cardio fitness. The Knoxville City Council approved the purchase of four refurbished treadmills for the center at their meeting this week which City Manager Dick Schrad says helped save the city some money. In addition, the council also approved the purchase of a cardio theater system that will allow users to pick what channel they want to enjoy. The equipment will be purchased from Fitness Equipment Source for a total of $10,502 from the Recreation Center’s share of the Equipment Replacement Fund. The center is currently attempting to obtain sponsorship or donations to purchase the three televisions for the cardio room.
