Lake Red Rock Expected to Slowly Recede

It appears that the heaviest flow of water down the Des Moines River is past, and Lake Red Rock is expected to continue gradually receding over the next several days. The latest forecast for the reservoir from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers predicts that in-flow to the lake will begin decreasing at roughly 5,000 cfs per day; while out-flow at the dam is currently at 51,000 cubic feet per second and is expected to remain at that rate for the foreseeable future. As of 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, the water level at Lake Red Rock was at 778.63 feet and slowly decreasing.
