Panthers Face Independence in State Baseball Tournament Today

Around 70 people gathered yesterday afternoon to wish the Knoxville baseball squad good luck as they headed to Des Moines for the class 3A State Tournament for the 9th time in team history. The Panthers, who are now 24-9 on the season, have earned the number one seed in the tournament and will play eighth seeded Independence Tuesday at noon in the first round game at Principal Park in Des Moines. Pre-game coverage with Derek Cardwell will begin at 11:45am on KNIA/KRLS, following a special Marion County Midday Magazine at 11:00.
