Though their roster was dominated by underclassmen, the Pella Christian softball team will lose to senior starters from this year’s line-up that certainly played key roles in the team’s success. Three-year letterwinner Heather Van Sant started the season batting in several different spots in the line-up, before moving to lead-off, at which time co-Head Coach Nate Van Wyk said she really came into her own, as one of the team’s leading hitters and run scorers.

The Lady Eagles’ other senior starter was third baseman Courtney Van Kooten, who Van Wyk said provided solid defense at the corner, despite not playing the season before. The Pella Christian softball team finished the season at 21-10 and were co-champions in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
