With an overall mark of 21-10 and a share of the Little Hawkeye Conference title, the 2010 season was a strong one for the Pella Christian softball team. The team was led by co-Head Coaches Kevin Van Wyk and Nate Van Wyk, and immediately faced adversity as the team dealt with injuries to key infielders.
Nate Van Wyk said that the absence of some more veteran players forced the young team to gain experience quickly, something he felt they handled well. Van Wyk added that not only was the experience good for the girls for this season, but should also prove beneficial next season as well.
The Lady Eagles’ season came to an end in a 7-2 loss to PCM in the opening round of the Regional Tournament.
