Tourism dipped only slightly in the 2010 fiscal year for the City of Pella, but the community expects to see an increase again in the upcoming fiscal year. That’s according to Jill Vandevoort with the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau, who says that state figures are predicting approximately a two percent growth in tourism for the fiscal year ending in 2011.

Vandevoort adds that day trips – including several motor coach tours – continue to bring dollars into the Pella community, and says the CVB is emphasizing an increase on overnight stays to bolster the city’s Hotel/Motel Tax revenue in the upcoming year.
