The director of Pella’s Vermeer Mill and Interpretive Center has been invited to participate in a “Diversity Day” later this month in Des Moines. The Science Center of Iowa is hosting a program featuring people of different ethnic make-ups, and Bonnie Verberg of Pella has been invited to share about Pella’s unique history.

“They’ve invited people of various ethnic groups in to the Science Center to display and kind of show off their group,” said Verberg. “So I will be going up there and promoting Pella’s Dutch heritage. We’ll have some small crafts [and] we’ll be in our Dutch costumes promoting Pella and the Dutch heritage.”

The “Diversity Day” will take place on Saturday, July 17th at the Science Center of Iowa in downtown Des Moines.
