According to Knoxville Public Works Director Jeff May, a portion of Rock Island Street will be closed for repairs beginning today. The Street Department will be repairing a pavement blowup on Rock Island between Depot and Brobst Streets that will close that section of road until the repairs are completed. May asks that motorists slow down and be alert when driving in this area.
