A line of severe storms moved through the Marion County area Friday night, bringing heavy rains, strong winds and lightning with it. At approximately 8:43 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was put into effect for Marion County, and the KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team began providing wall-to-wall coverage of the storm, which expired at 9:45 p.m.

The KNIA/KRLS Studios recorded 1.45 inches of rainfall in around an hour-and-a-half during the peak intensity of the storm. Additionally, Mid-American Energy reported 24 customers without power in Marion County at 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
