The pre season cross country rankings are out and the area is well represented in the polls. In class 3A boys Knoxville is fourth while Pella is sixth. In the girls class 3A, Pella is ranked number three. In class 2A boys, Pella Christian comes in at number four. Knoxville Coach Mike Moats says after the state meet last year, the guys have set the bar really high for this season. Moats says Jamie VanerVeer, and Tim Shepherd could run on any team in the state. He adds Wick Cunningham has looked very good in summer workouts. Moats says the top seven may change from one meet to another because there are so many runners that are competing for a varsity spot.
