Iowa Private College Week during the past few days. The yearly event is intended as an opportunity for high school students and their parents to get onto college campuses and learn more about their options for higher education. Terri Crumley, Director of Admissions at Central says the week has given private colleges a chance to showcase all they have to offer.

“It’s been a great way for people in the state of Iowa to understand that private colleges have a lot to offer. Out state universities are wonderful, but private colleges actually have a wonderful experience for so many young people,” says Crumley.

“Every college has something to offer different people, and so the best way to find out if it’s a good situation for you is to go visit. That’s really the only way you’re going to be able to find out if it’s for you; and that’s what this week is all about.”

Like many of the other colleges participating, Central College has spent the week hosting campus tours and informative sessions on everything from financial aid to what the day-to-day life of a college student is like.

Central has held one of the best-attended Iowa Private College Week events during the past five years, and had a record 440 students registered to participate this week. Registration is not required to attend, but can be done by contacting the Central College admission office or visiting www.Central.edu. Iowa Private College Week runs through Friday.
