Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson participated in a conference call Monday morning in regards to the Presidential Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance the county was included in Sunday. Anderson says the state assistance program which was previously in effect will be discontinued immediately as the federal program will take its place, and unlike the state program the federal assistance will not have income eligibility guidelines. He encourages all residents who have received damage to apply, even if they did so through the state program. Residents can apply over the phone by calling 1-800-621-FEMA or online at www.disasterassistance.gov.
