A former Knoxville Raceway employee who pled guilty to first degree theft has received a deferred judgment. Michelle Leigh Irving’s judgment was deferred for five years, meaning she will be placed on probation to the Fifth Judicial District court and if she fulfills the conditions of her probation she will be discharged and the record will be expunged. Irving was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,000 and $305 in surcharges and court costs. She was arrested March 24th for embezzling $98,000 from the Knoxville Raceway while she worked there as the Accounting Manager and pled guilty to the charges on July 2nd.
