The Knoxville Police Department is searching for the owner of a vehicle that struck a city fire hydrant this past weekend.  Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS News at approximately 4:30am Sunday morning officers responded to a report of a hydrant near the intersection of Roche and Rock Island that had was destroyed by a vehicle. While there was no one present at the scene, the officers were able to follow a debris and water trail to the Dingus Lounge where they found the damaged vehicle.  The officers impounded the vehicle until they are able to identify who was driving it as the time of the accident.  Chief Losada says the Knoxville Water Department will be testing the hydrant to look for damage and determine whether or not it is still functional.
