Matthew Geil Graduates from the Army’s Basic Training

Private Matthew Geil of Knoxville graduated from the Army’s Basic Training last week. Geil, a 2010 Knoxville High School graduate, attended training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina where he was taught the Army mission and core values, physical fitness, weapons skills, map reading and field tactics. He has since been transferred to the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland where he will continue his Advanced Individual Training as a light and heavy wheel mechanic for the Iowa National Guard. Matthew is the son of Todd Geil and Tammy Jenkins.
