This past week completed the first five days of football practice, as allowed by the state, and the Pella Christian coaching staff is pleased where the team is at this early in the season. Eagles’ Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski says the offseason – including this summer – was the best the program has had in terms of athletes working out in the weight room and with running and conditioning work.

Kacmarynski adds that with work in camp and time in practice at the beginning of the week without pads, the team has already installed many of the offensive, defensive and kicking schemes they’ll use this season; adding that the immediate focus in practice will be on the physical aspects like blocking and tackling.

Roughly 65 athletes are out for football this fall at Pella Christian, which is similar to the number out last season, when the Eagles went 7-3 overall and won their district.
