With twelve seniors and twenty juniors, the Pella Christian football team returns a wealth of experience in 2010 – something that is immediately apparent when looking at the Eagles’ backfield. Along with the return of 3-year starter Kyle Nikkel at quarterback, Pella Christian gets back top rusher Bret Nieuwsma, along with veteran backs Sam Tvedt and Alex Fynaardt.

Eagles’ Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski says he thinks those three backs will make for a strong ground attack, and that improvements in team speed over the summer should create more outside opportunities for the offense. Pella Christian opens the season Friday night at home against Des Moines Christian.
