Participation in children’s reading programs at the Pella Public Library was up this summer. Katie Dreyer, Youth Services Librarian at the Pella Public Library, said a total of 510 reading logs were taken this summer, up from 436 last year. Additionally, a greater number of young readers completed the required amounts of reading for three separate prize levels. Dreyer was very excited about the enthusiastic response from students participating in summer reading programs this year, though she said it did make it a challenge to keep books in stock.
