A 2009 Pella Community High School graduate recently completed his basic military training in the Air National Guard. Benjamin J. Lyng graduated from an eight week program at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values and basic warfare principles and skills, among other training.

Completion of the Air National Guard’s basic training also earn Airmen four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Benjamin is the son of Thomas Lyng of Pella.
