At the past week’s school board meeting, Pella Community School District received some good news in the form of standardized testing. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says, on average, students in the district performed well on the A.C.T. exam, something he says speaks highly of the quality of education received at Pella schools.

“Our average score this last year was 25.1, which is the highest anyone can remember at this point,” said Wittmer. “Obviously that says so much about our kids, so much about the experience they get with our staff, and how hard everyone is working around here to achieve excellence.”

70% of students took the test, which is above average, and Pella High School’s score was three points higher than the state average and four points higher than the national average.
