With 10 seniors on the roster this season Pella volleyball is obviously loaded with talent, especially up front. One of their leading hitters last season Kelsi Rempe is back. Coach Bob Fessler says Rempe has really emerged as a big time all around player and will be a major part of their success this season. Other top hitters returning include Hali Steenhoek and Kelsey Fynaardt. Fessler also says Lindsay Bentzinger, who was their libero last season, will play as an outside hitter this year and Hope Wadle, who missed last year with a torn ACL will see some time as well. The quarterback of the team, setter Brooke Fessler also returns. Fessler was a first team All Stater last season, and has been put on the High School All American ” Watch List” this season.

Coach Fessler says in addition to all these heavy hitters, they also have some pretty good defensive players such as Karissa Rempe, Alexa Azinger and Adison Smith who all have roles defensively which will also be a key to their overall success.

Pella is ranked fourth in the Class 3A pre season poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and opens their season at home with Bondurant Farrar and Dallas Center Grimes on Tuesday.
