A handful of Pella community leaders recently returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., where they met with Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini was among the five who made the trip, and said the purpose of the meeting was to discuss regional transportation issues.

This included proposals for a new airport for the City of Pella, a corridor linking the area to Interstate-80 and the Highway 63 Coalition. Nardini said all three issues represent major projects, and the conversations with Boswell and other officials were part of conceptual meetings aimed to keep the planning process moving forward.
