The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday morning. At the meeting the board adopted the Iowans Helping Iowans Unmet Needs Disaster Assistance Program and designed the Red Rock Area Community Action as the administrator of the program. The assistance program is run through the state and provides up to $2,500 for residents who received flood or storm damage this summer and their insurance and FEMA assistance did not cover all of the damage. The board also awarded a contract of $11,750 to TK Concrete to expand the parking areas at the Marion County Department of Human Services building where HIRTA will soon be based out of. In addition, the semi-annual treasurer’s report was approved and filed, and the board discussed progress of the Tracy Sewer Project.
