Reversing an early season setback, the Central College volleyball team scored its second straight Iowa Conference win with a 25-19, 26-24, 25-23 road sweep of Coe College Wednesday. Coe actually outhit Central but the Dutch dominated at the net, with a 14-4 blocking advantage. Haley Brillhart had four kills and five solo blocks, while libero Chelsea Grieger had 18 digs. Central improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in Iowa Conference play. The Dutch play host to the Central Classic this weekend. Friday Central takes on Buena Vista at 4 p.m. and Illinois Wesleyan at 8 p.m. Saturday the Dutch meet Rockford (Ill.) at 11 a.m. All matches will be played in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. Central will also be staging a 10th anniversary reunion for the school’s 2000 NCAA Division III national champions this weekend. The returning players will be recognized prior to Friday’s 8 p.m. match and participate in an alumni match Saturday at 3 p.m. The 2000 squad claimed Central’s third consecutive NCAA title and posted a 40-2 record.
