With the weather becoming cooler as September ends, it’s important to remember that the winter is right around the corner. State Climatologist Harry Hillaker tells KNIA/KRLS News that Marion County should see a little frost as early as next Sunday or Monday morning. Hillaker says that he expects the temperature to be in the high 30s but with the dew on the ground it could lead a little frost. The average first freeze for Marion County is October 13th but this year experts are expecting a colder and wetter winter. There have been three consecutive winters that have been colder than average and 4 consecutive winters have been snowier than normal.
