The Knoxville Police Department arrested a juvenile Wednesday for possession of marijuana near a school. Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news his department received an anonymous complaint about a group of kids at a home in the 800 block of West Main Street during school hours. When the officer arrived, one male in the group tried to hide something, refused to ID himself and would not comply with the officer’s directions. At that time he was detained for interference and marijuana was found in his control. Losada says eventually the boy was identified as living at the location, which is within 500 feet of the GOAL alternative school, his mother was called and he was released to her. The other members of the group cooperated with the officer and are not currently facing any charges.
